Bushfires in Australia is Uniting the Whole World

Bushfires in Australia :

Massive bushfires in Australia have devastated the continent at an unparalleled scale.

According to the World Meteorological Organization report, these wildfires started at the end of Australia’s hottest and driest year on record, 2019, and is incinerating the beginning of 2020.

These catastrophic bushfires have destroyed 1000s of homes, killed more than 28 people and burned 100s of 1000s of hectares of lush green releasing tonnes and tonnes of toxic gases into the atmosphere that have led to the worst and most hazardous air quality in major cities across Australia. 

It’s so intense that it could be seen from space. These catastrophic and unprecedented bushfires have directly affected the global climate which is already warming up.

The trail of these bushfires has left the most heart-wrenching scenes. Over a billion animals and birds lost their lives to this inferno, 1000s left homeless and are starving, animals dying of thirst, ecosystem deteriorated.

Australia is now facing the biggest crisis in history. The country is trying to stand up. As all these disasters are being witnessed by the whole world, humanity from around the world is standing up to support Australia.

Australia’s neighbor New Zealand has aided by sending in its troops to tackle the bushfires. The U.S has sent its firefighters to fight the raging bushfires in Australia.

India, England, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea are sending in supplies to aid bushfires’ relief operations. People are responding to the call to stand up for Australia.

Serena Williams has pledged to donate her prize money $43,000 USD to the relief operations to fight the Australian bushfires. She has announced it after winning the title at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday.

“I’ve been playing in Australia for over 20 years, and its been really hard for me to watch all the news, so, I decided at the beginning of the tournament, every match I played I’d donate a dress, and I’d also donate all my prize money for a great cause,” she said in an interview.

This was her 1st title since her daughter was born in 2017. She said that she isn’t finished helping Australia yet. Serena Williams, along with Roger Federer, Naomi Osaka, Rafael Nadal, and others will play on 15th January to raise money for bushfires relief efforts.

The world-famous rock music band Metallica has pledged to donate more than $500,000 USD to the NSW Rural Fire Service and to the Country Fire Authority in Victoria to aid in the relief efforts and fight the raging bushfires in Australia.

“We are totally overwhelmed by the news of the wildfires sweeping through millions of acres across Australia with major impact in New South Wales and Victoria. The resulting destruction and devastating effects on all residents, animals, the environment, and the incredible land in Australia is truly heartbreaking. Please join us and do whatever you can to assist.” they said in an interview.

The burning bushfires in Australia made its appearance in the Golden Globes 2020.

Jeniffer Aniston spoke on behalf of Russel Crowe, the Australian actor who won the Golden Globe award for best actor for his performance as former Fox News Chair – Roger Ailes in ‘The Loudest Voice.’

He could not make it to the event as he was in New South Wales where fires have been raging for months. His message said, “we need to act based on Science, move over global workforce to renewable energy, and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way, we all have a future. Thank you.” And urged all the celebrities to support Australia.

And celebrities from around the world did pledge their support.

Chris Hemsworth, famously known as Thor has donated $1 million. Elton John and Kylie Jenner both have pledged $1 million each to fight the bushfires in Australia. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have pledged $500,000.


Rebel Wilson, Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Kacey Musgraves, Ellen DeGeneres, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Nick Kyrgios are donating and supporting Australia.



Kaylen Ward, a social media influencer has raised $1 million to fund the relief operations to fight the bushfires in Australia.

According to an Australian news report, mining billionaire Andrew Forrest has pledged $70 million for bushfire relief and recovery donation to help Australia get back up.

Australian cricketers Glen Maxwell and Chris Lynn have pledged $250 to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal for every six they hit in a match, and the bowlers Kane Richardson, Peter Siddle, Adam Zampa have pledged $200 for every wicket they take in every match in the Big Bash League Season.
