Sledgehammer Games has acknowledged the overwhelming requests from fans to include the popular Cyber Attack mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. While the development team has started exploring the possibility, they emphasize that its addition is not yet guaranteed.
Cyber Attack’s Popularity and Gameplay
First introduced in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Cyber Attack quickly garnered a loyal following. The mode blends elements from Sabotage and Search and Destroy, challenging players to retrieve an EMP device and plant it at the enemy’s Data Center.
Unlike typical respawn modes, Cyber Attack requires teammates to revive fallen comrades, adding a layer of strategy and teamwork. Matches are played in a best-of-nine format, with the first team to secure five victories emerging as the winner.
Fan Demand and Developer Response
The absence of Cyber Attack in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been a notable omission for many players. Fans have even gone so far as to create petitions urging Sledgehammer Games to bring back the beloved game mode.
In response, Sledgehammer Games recently issued a statement acknowledging the feedback and confirming that preliminary work on integrating Cyber Attack into Modern Warfare 3 has begun.

Challenges in Implementation
Sledgehammer Games’ announcement is a step towards transparency, indicating that while the team is actively considering the addition, it cannot promise Cyber Attack will make it into the game.
The developers highlighted that Modern Warfare 3 was not originally designed to support this mode, making its implementation a complex and challenging task. Despite these hurdles, Sledgehammer Games is committed to exploring all possible avenues to fulfill player requests.
Future Updates and Player Expectations
The development team at Sledgehammer Games reassured fans that they would keep the community updated on the status of Cyber Attack’s potential inclusion in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. They stressed that any decision would be communicated promptly once a concrete plan is in place.
Looking Forward
In the meantime, players who enjoy Cyber Attack can still experience the mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Additionally, the Call of Duty franchise has more excitement on the horizon with the upcoming release of Black Ops 6, developed by Treyarch, scheduled to launch on October 25.
Sledgehammer Games’ willingness to listen to player feedback and consider adding Cyber Attack to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 demonstrates their commitment to community engagement.
While the mode’s inclusion is not yet certain, the developers’ transparency and efforts to explore the possibility reflect a dedication to enhancing the player experience. Fans eagerly await further updates, hopeful that their favorite mode will return to the latest installment of the iconic franchise.
