Most of the Cinema lovers were eagerly awaiting to witness this ‘Glamorous Event’ with their very own eyes.
Well, here it is…
With its extravagant Events, Dazzling Colors, Spectacular Shows and most exciting of all is that it’s gonna rain your favorite Celebrities… for 11 long days.
Opening Film of Cannes Film Festival 2019
Cannes Film Festival’s gonna get kickstarted with Director Jim Jarmusch’s Sci-fi horror Comedy movie “The Dead Don’t Die” on 14th May. It’s gonna be a world premiere.
The movie has a big star cast. Selena Gomez, Austin Butler, Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny, Iggy Pop, Danny Glover.
And I think it’s gonna be a fantastic movie for the opening of the Cannes Film Festival 2019.
A Tribute to the light of French Cinema
Cannes Film Festival 2019, pays special homage to “Agnès Varda”. The brightest light of the French Cinema, who unfortunately passed away on 29th March 2019.
With a still taken from her famous film ‘La Pointe Courte’. The festival pays tribute to this legend with the “72nd Cannes Film Festival Poster” which was unveiled on 15th April 2019.

Jury Members of the Cannes Film Festival 2019
> President of the Jury: Alejandro González Iñárritu, 56 yrs old Mexican Film Director, Producer and Screen Writer will be the President of the jury of the 72nd Festival de Cannes.
> He had won the ‘Best Director’ at Cannes 2016 and has 4 academy awards.
> His films include Birdman, The Revenant, Babel.
President of the Short Films and Cini Foundation Jury
> Claire Denis, French filmmaker, and Screen Writer.
> She will be awarding the 3 prizes of the Cini Foundation.
> Her famous films are Chocolat (1998), No Fear No Die (1990), 35 Shots of Rums (2008), Bastards (2013), White Material (2010), High Life (2018).
President of the Un-certain Regard Jury 2019
> Nadine Labaki, A Lebanese director.
> Her movie ‘Capernaum’, which was nominated for Academy Award and Golden Globe Award had won the Jury prize in Cannes.
What can you do there…?
This is exclusively for the film lovers…
During the 11 days of Extravaganza. Every evening during the film festival on ‘Plage Mace’, there’s a free open-air Cinema showing classic films.
All you need to do is just turn up and grab a seat [you don’t need a ticket as its free] and just enjoy the show.
And there are free shows in Cannes Cinepolis showing films at 4 Cinemas in Cannes.
Films are a plenty at Cannes Film Festival. Or if you prefer to watch by paying, just head into the ‘Cannes Cinepolis’ Tent on the Pantiero between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm to secure your tickets.
You can even get tickets for films shown as part of the director’s fortnight which are available from outside the Malmaison (or) through Cannes Cinepolis and cost 7 Euros each (or) 30 Euros for Six total showings, you can also have free tickets for week.
But always check what language the film’s shown in (or) if there are subtitles for the movie (or) you are gonna understand nothing in the movie and be like a Nerd in DJ party.
There are two giant screens in town that show highlights of the festival including Press Conferences, Photocalls of Celebrities and the Stars ascending the Red Carpet.
And don’t forget to see the iconic 24-steps Red Carpet before entering ‘Palais des Festivals’ where the Celebrities from all over the world who attend Cannes Film Festivals gonna be there to walk those Iconic 24 steps on Red Carpet.
Not So Fun Fact: Netflix and the Cannes Film Festival organizers have been unable to come to an agreement, so there will be no Netflix film show in (or) out of competition this year.
The ‘3 Days in Cannes Pass’ for fans
Since last year, 3 days in Canne’s youth Pass has made possible for the young Cinephiles to have access to the official selections like Special screenings, Cannes Classics, Competition out of Competition, Un Certain Regard, Cinema de La Plage and the famous Palais des Festival and a special programme at Les Arcades Cinema on the final 3 days of the festival.

Fun Fact: Tarantino’s latest film ‘Once upon a Time in Hollywood’ starring Margot Robbie as Sharon Tale, Leonardo Di Caprio as a former western TV star and Brad Pitt as his Stunt Double. The movie’s gonna set a Premiere show at Cannes Film Festival 2019.
