Well, now it looks like it’s about to change. Epic Games has introduced its most advanced character-creation tool “MetaHuman” Creator to assist creators to design the most realistic human characters and their facial expressions.
MetaHuman Creator is a cloud-streamed tool built to create and develop the most precise and realistic-looking humans within just a few hours which used to take weeks or even months before, for a whole new level of gaming experience, according to the company.

They released a couple of sample videos to show us how detailed a character can be that are created using MetaHuman Creator.
And to be frank, they did not fail to impress. The precision and detail applied down to a single hair is definitely a heads-up for the character-creators.
The design using MetaHuman Creator has choices to choose from an array of preset photorealistic characteristics like hair type, hairstyle, ear types, noses, beards, etc, literally everything.

Unlike most other character-designing tools, MetahHuman Creator enables the possibility of utilizing every single feature used to design the characters for the most true-to-real facial expressions.
“Up until now one of the most arduous tasks in a 3D content creation has been constructing truly convincing digital humans. Even the most experienced artists require significant amounts of time, effort, and equipment, just for one character,” said Vladimir Mastilovic, vice president of digital humans technology for Epic Games.

This advanced tool created after years of research and development with companies like Cubic Motion, 3D Lateral, and Quixel.
These life-like realistic characters created using the “MeatHumans” can be integrated with the latest animation and motion capture techniques to develop super-realistic video games.
But we need to wait a little bit more for more up-close hands-on experience as the exact date for its release isn’t out yet. Really interested creators and artists can signup here for the Unreal Engine’s updates.
